one amazing beach day. in wisconsin (!?!) i had no idea. real waves. really blue water. really, really a lot of sand all over everyone & everything when we were done. perfect. thank you for sharing the day with us, pontys!

i was taking a picture of jane waiting for a bumper... it figures that i would also get a picture of melissa airborne. typical.




we estimate that jane swam about 6 miles yesterday... she wasn't happy unless she was retrieving.


i like this shot because (technically) we were all in the water... (my feet were wet and cold, too!)

the dane county fair

while hayden was away getting spoiled by grandma & papa this weekend, we took court to the county fair to see the animals... andy liked the pigs, i liked the goats and court loved the bunnies. i thought we were going to have a purell emergency (as in not enough), but i discovered another bottle hidden deep within my camera bag... shocking.

happy monday! we're off to winneconne... court is so happy to get her brother back today!

lost ball in lovely light.

it was my wayward pitch landed the ball in the flower garden. i swear i didn't do it on purpose. (but i may next time...) hayden was super happy that i tried to use the gorgeous light at that moment to my photographic advantage...

ava is five... or is it four?

happy birthday to ava, who's mama threw her the best princess party in the whole wide world. (but only put four candles on her cake)...

the {little} kids

playdoh, paint, sand, pop dolls, tea parties, water wings, 

popcicles, blow up animals, sparklers, bubble wands, 

marshmallows & snuggles. 

and asking if they could go to bed, exhausted.

the {big} boys

babysitting (a nickel an hour), bike riding 

(in. the. mud.), fishing, swimming, sleeping

(in the cabin. almost.), campfiring, racing cars, 

singing, hammocking, canoeing. 

loving every minute of it.

lucky them, lucky us. 

to grow up together, even though they live apart. 

to share this friendship that makes them more

like brothers (and us more like sisters) every day.

the simpsons and binottos... i figured this was a 

good place to start. love you guys.

everyday, i realize how lucky i 

am to have them.

nearby while we were busy 

dividing our bedroom with 

masking tape. (right down the

middle... my side with no access

to the door. oops.)

we're not usually in the same

place at the same time, so i'll 

smile every time i think of 

this weekend. and so will they.
